About 30 years ago I went to an exhibition of Cabinet Makers music stands. They were impressive, they were magnificent. They were all made to show how skilled the various cabinetmakers were. Non of them seemed interested in what the musician needed.
I resolved to design a stand for the musician.
My music stand is is adjustable. Low enough for a 'cello and high enough for a flute. it can fit on the back seat of an hatchback next to the 'cello. There are leather pads under the adjusters and the music rest has a curve to hold the pages back. All the curved pieces have been laminated.
